Compact Travel Mirror | Portable Pocket Mirror for Eye Gazing | Loui Crow Lyric | Gorgeous
A Note on This Compact Mirror:
I wrote this line at the end of my song "Gorgeous." After the years of believing my body was something to be used, something to shrink, something to apologize for. After the bulimia, the migraines, the silence, the shame. After all of it — still gorgeous.
The song is about reclaiming the word that was used to silence me. Gorgeous isn't a compliment in the song. It's a resurrection. It's what rose when my body bent. It's the way I learned to love my own reflection.
Louise Hay taught that we've been bullying ourselves for years, and that maybe we could try being kind instead. But I couldn't get there right away. I had to feel my anger first. I had to learn to look without flinching before I could speak.
I started my mirror practice with a small mirror like this one. I wasn't ready for the full reflection yet. I started with just my eyes.
I discovered that looking into my right eye softens my inner critic — something about it quiets the voice that used to tear me apart. I call my left eye my ghost eye, where I visit my inner child, Sarah.
The album GORGEOUS is Sixteen songs, each one a scene I lived, a silence I swallowed, a wound I pressed into sound. I wrote it for the girl who never got asked. For the young woman whose fear was sold back to her as foreplay. For the wife who mistook terror for devotion. For the version of me that still flinches, still hides, still forgets she's allowed to take up space. I wrote it so my body would never have to carry any of it alone again. I'm still learning to receive that gift.
This compact mirror is a gentle nudge that you're still gorgeous — even after all of it.
And honestly? You don't need my mirror. You just need the reminder. Whether it's a compact mirror you already carry, a glance at your reflection in a window, or a moment of quiet with your own eyes. What matters is that you're learning to see yourself differently. I thought this one turned out nice, so I put it out there in case someone else needed the reminder too.
Thank you for looking. Thank you for still showing up.
