My three-year-old son was throwing money from his piggy bank into the sky one day, watching it fall down.
Squealing with laughter, he said,
"Throw the money in the sky and the money will come."
I love his wise little words sometimes. He has no idea how heavy money can feel. He just knows it's fun to throw it up and watch it land. He knows it comes back.
It inspired me. I've been carrying that line with me since. I turned it into a little mantra, a gentle affirmation I can say when my relationship with money feels tense. I don't need a complicated visualization. I just need to remember:

I've tried other money mantras before.
"Money comes easily to me" or "I am a money magnet”. They never quite landed. They felt like I was trying to convince myself of something I didn't fully believe. Louise Hay taught that we affirm our financial reality every day, whether we mean to or not. Every time I say "we can't afford that" or "money is tight," I'm affirming lack just as powerfully as any positive affirmation could affirm abundance.
She said, "You can never create prosperity by talking or thinking about your lack of money."
She also recommended Jerry Gillies, who wrote a book called Moneylove about shifting the internal relationship with money so it can flow more freely. I read some of his work. I appreciated it. But I still couldn't find a mantra that felt like mine.
Then my son handed me one. He just threw money in the air and said what he saw.
Abraham Hicks talks about thinking about what you want and why you want it. I want to feel ease around money. I want to feel like it comes to me naturally, like it's always there. So I practice saying this now. Money will come. Money will come.
I've caught myself saying "we can't afford that" to Truman when he asks for a toy that's too big, and I cringe every time. I don't want to pass on the same money anxiety I inherited. I want him to grow up with a different kind of energy around money. His own words are already teaching me how.
This is a small reminder of that, in case you're changing your relationship with money too. A little piece of my son's wisdom that I'm carrying with me now.
