A Note on This Crop Top
"Protect this space."
That line is from my adaptation of the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram. I call it the Mom Magick Ritual of Protection. It is the same structure, just translated into English and made simpler. I wanted to feel it in my body, not just recite it in a language I did not fully understand.
The pentagram is a five-pointed star. In the LBRP ritual, it is a symbol of protection. It represents the four directions and the center point where I stand. It is a way of saying: I am here. I am grounded. I am safe. The pentagram is drawn in the air around me, marking the edges of my space. It is a boundary made visible, a reminder that I get to choose what enters and what stays out.
The pentagram is also a map of the body. Each point corresponds to a direction, an element, and a part of myself. East is Air, the mind, the part that thinks and speaks. South is Fire, the will, the energy that drives me forward. West is Water, the emotions, the deep knowing that flows beneath the surface. North is Earth, the body, the solid ground I stand on. The center point is me. My head, my heart, my hands, my feet. It is a way of saying: I am aligned. I am whole. I am here.
The cross is another map of the body. In my MMRP ritual, I touch my forehead, my chest, my right shoulder, my left shoulder. (Slightly different than the LBRP). The crown of stars above me. The root of earth below me. The active hand reaching out. The receptive hand receiving. The heart at the center. It is a way of saying: I am connected. I am grounded. I am held.
Sometimes I use the pentagram in my Mom Magick version instead of the cross. Either work. Magick is personal. They are different maps of the same territory. The body. The self. The space I occupy.
I do this ritual because I tend to dissociate. I float away from myself. I leave my body. This brings me back. It is somatic. It is moving meditation. It grounds me and clears my mind.
I am not a teacher. I am just practicing. I share this in case anyone else is curious.
This crop top is a small reminder of that. A quiet way to carry the words with you. And honestly, you do not need my product. There are songs for the protection rituals streaming everywhere. There are videos of me doing them. The words are free. The practice is free. I mostly just wanted to put the thought out there.
