Inner Critic | Self Compassion | Healing | The Critic Is Lying | Self Acceptance | Inner Child | Mirror Work | Scented Soy Candle 9 oz

$20.00

The inner critic has a voice. It sounds familiar. Sometimes it sounds like my mother. Sometimes it sounds like my father. Sometimes it sounds like the comments I read online. Sometimes it sounds like me, repeating what they said.
The inner critic keeps a small office in the back of my mind. It has a desk and a filing cabinet full of evidence. It has a neat little system for cataloging my failures. It is always ready with a file. It is always ready to remind me.
The inner critic is a liar. It tells the story that kept me small. It tells the story that kept me quiet. It tells the story that kept me apologizing for existing.
I have been working on this. Mirror work. Journaling. Rage fits as somatic release. I discovered looking into my right eye softens the critic. Something about that gaze quiets the voice.

I spent a year looking only into my right eye. The critic got bored. It stopped yelling as much and bullying myself. It gave me space to let my brain go quiet. Then I started visiting my left eye. I call it my ghost eye. That is where Sarah lives. The little one inside.
Now I shift between them. Right eye for the critic. Left eye for Sarah. Both are part of the practice. Both are part of me.
Slowly, I am learning to hear the critic without believing it. I am learning to say “thank you for trying to protect me” and then let the words pass.
I am still in the middle of it. Some days the critic is louder. Some days I can turn the volume down. Some days I forget and react. I start over the next day.
This sticker is a small reminder. A quiet way to remember: “You are not what the voice says. The voice is lying. You are enough as you are.”
You do not need my sticker to remember that. The truth is free. The practice is free. I just wanted to put the thought out there.
Thank you for looking.
Crow is watching.
