"Future can't grow when you stand on it."
I wrote it because I needed to hear it. I needed to be told that I cannot plant a future while I am still standing in the way of it. I cannot grow into who I am becoming if I am still rooted in who I was. I have to move. I have to trust the leap. I have to lift my feet.
The Blue Jay has an acorn in his mouth. Acorns are potential. Acorns are the future. Acorns are what grows into something bigger than itself. But an acorn cannot grow while it is being held. It has to be dropped. It has to be planted. It has to be let go.

I am an over-apologetic person. I learned it young. I learned it from authoritarian parents and school culture that demanded compliance. I was taught to be small. I was taught to fold my hands and say sorry for existing. I am still unlearning that.
