Depression Is Rage With Nowhere to Go | Emotional Scale | Pretender | FVNERAL Album | Loui Crow Lyric | 4x4 Magnet
That line is from my song Pretender, on the album FVNERAL of False Selves. It came from a place I know well. A place where I had been performing being fine for so long that I forgot I was allowed to feel anything else.
Louise Hay taught that anger is okay. She taught that I have been bullying myself for years, and that maybe I could try being kind instead. But I could not get there right away. I could not say kind things to myself in the mirror until I had felt my anger. For me, personally, anger was the next step.
Depression kept me in a place where I did not want to be alive. I had no energy to move. No hope to hold onto. Abraham Hicks teaches the emotional ladder. I could not jump from despair to joy. I had to climb one rung at a time. Anger was the first rung that moved me. It gave me permission to want something different. It gave me energy to change my circumstance.
I have learned that I cannot skip the anger. When I try to stuff it down, it turns into pain in my body. Migraines. Fibromyalgia. IBS. Hives, and more. Louise Hay maps those emotional patterns to physical symptoms in her book You Can Heal Your Life. The body carries what the mind cannot process.
I have found safe outlets for my anger. Rage fits where I hit the ground with a rake. Rage journaling where I write everything I cannot say out loud. Quiet rage fits where I stomp, and exhale loudly, and flail my arms and let the energy move through me. It is somatic. It helps me release what I have been holding.
I have learned that the anger itself is not the enemy. It is a signal. A boundary has been crossed. A need is not being met. Something needs to shift. The anger is the messenger. I am learning to listen to it instead of fighting it.
I am not a teacher. I am just practicing. I share this in case anyone else needs to hear it.
This crop top is a small reminder of that. A quiet way to carry the words with you. And honestly, you do not need my product to remember, ‘you are allowed to be angry’. The song is streaming everywhere. The words are free. The practice is free. I mostly just wanted to put the thought out there.
Thank you for looking.
